The British Film Institute has already announced that some of Alfred Hitchcock’s early masterpieces will be shown during the London 2012 Festival.
“The Pleasure Garden” will be among the Hitchcock classics to be given a contemporary soundtrack for the London 2012 Festival.
The Director’s silent films will be accompanied by original orchestral scores from British musical talent.
The first of the events announced will see songwriter and composer Nitin Sawhney pen a new score for ‘The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog’ (1926).
Yyoung composer Daniel Cohen will undertake a new score for Hitchcock’s first film as a director, ‘The Pleasure Garden’ (1925). Innovative composer Tansy Davies has also been commissioned to write a score as part of the ground-breaking programme.
