David Sylvian will tour Europe in March 2012, his first series of performances since 2007.Entitled “Implausible Beauty 2012”, some may have christened the project ‘The Implausible Tour’, as David has become increasingly reclusive and private in most aspects of his life and the notion of live performance seemingly anathema to him. However, recently, he has found a line-up of musicians with whom he’s genuinely excited to perform live and to whom he’s most grateful for their commitment.
The David Sylvian that fronted new wave pop band Japan wore luminescent hair and glam make-up; on the cover of his solo debut, 1984’s Brilliant Trees, he was stylish and refined, a gentleman popstar. The new millennium has seen a more serious Sylvian, several steps further along on his musical journey and seeking new sounds to explain new traumas.
The long awaited tour sees the return of one of Britain’s most respected musicians, performing in some of Europe’s most illustrious concert halls to enhance the intricate arrangements now synonymous with David Sylvian’s live show.
More information on the musicians involved in this series of performances along with a personal message from david will follow in due course at his various websites and other online outlets.
