After his latest “Alice in Wonderland” 3D movie, Director Tim Burton is pleased to announce the shooting start of his forthcoming movie, “The Dark Shadow”, adding to “The Wrap” during his exhibition opening at the LA County Museum of Art, that it just began production, and confirming it won’t be in 3D.
“I have no plans for that,” Burton said about the possibility of a three dimensional Barnabas Collins. “I loved doing Alice in 3D. Freankeweenie[sic], gonna do that in 3D. There’s people like, ‘Everything’s gonna be in 3D,‘ or ‘I hate 3D!’ I think people should have a choice. I don’t think it should be forced on anybody.”
He also told “I’m early into it because it’s a funny tone, and that’s part of what the vibe of the show is, and there’s something about it that we want to get,” said Burton. “But when you look at it, it’s pretty bad. I’m hoping that it will be — it’s early days, let’s put it — I’m very intrigued by the tone. It’s a real ethereal tone we’re trying to go for and I don’t know yet.”
The movie, will feature Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter, Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green, Lily Collins, Jackie Earle Haley, Jonny Lee Miller, Chloe Moretz and Bella Heathcote, setting to be released on May 11, 2012.
